Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole child from Richard McCormick as well as Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher, and her mother was home-based mom. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three elder brothers. McCormick began performing and singing from an early age. She also performed for youngsters in the community. In the age of six, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. It led her to get a phone call to Pat Domigan at the Jack Wormser Agency inquiring if the young girl would be interested in pursuing careers in the field of entertainment. McCormick had her first significant work when she got a part as a television commercial in 1964, for Mattel's new doll"Baby Pettaburp." She did another Mattel commercial in 1964, for their "Chatty-Cathy" doll. Soon after, McCormick was cast as the lead character of the show Wind It up and It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. McCormick is one of over 1,200 auditioning children, won the role of the oldest daughter of three two-headed sisters in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a newlywed family. The five-year run of the show was a great success. McCormick wrote in her 2008 book, Here's The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having losing her virginity in the fifth season with Barry Williams, her co-star and onscreen brother. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book, Here's the Truth: Surviving the Marcia and Finding My True Voice that during season five of the show she almost lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. This could have happened as she explained. "But the time for us wasn't the right one."
